Although it might seem a bit odd to begin a review at the ending, it somehow seems fitting for Chris Roberson and #8217;s dazzlingly imaginative, compulsively readable time-travel novel, Here, There and #38; Everywhere. Its final paragraph in particular gave me goosebumps, as I witnessed all of the story and #8217;s various entwining threads and #8211;both thematic and plot-based and #8211;coalesce into a rapturous, [...]

On 5 November, Governor David Paterson of New York called for a new session of the New York State Legislature in order to resolve unfinished business that faces the state. Of course, the easiest way to resolve the state and #8217;s formidable budget crisis would be to divide the state into New York [...]
This movie is at the top of our list for Best Films of 2009. With a cast that includes Fergie alongside Sophia Loren, how can you pass something like this up?
Nine is the musical re-telling of Federico Fellini's semi-autobiographical "8 and a half". It tells the story of Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis), a world famous film director as he confronts an epic mid-life crisis with both creative and personal problems. He must balance the many women of his life, including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), an American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Fergie) and his mother (Sophia Loren).
Comedienne Wanda Sykes's new late night show will premier this Saturday at 11 P.M. EST on FOX. The show will feature a stand-up portion as well as celebrity guests, panel discussions, current events, and political discussions. Sykes is the first openly-gay, and the third woman, to headline a late-night show on a major network. The Wanda Sykes Show promises to liven up and diversify after-hours television.
When Sykes isn't taking the world of late-night by storm she likes to travel. Recently she shared some travel advice and hints with us in our VIP Lounge. Her funniest tip? "Don't check bags. If you've got to shove stuff up your ass, do that." Find out what else she said here.
Today the voters in the state of Washington approved Referendum 71. By voting “approve,” voters retained the domestic partnership laws that were passed on May 18, 2009 during the legislative session. This domestic partnership law provides legal protections for same-sex couples and seniors who are in committed relationships in the State of Washington.

These laws are vitally important to LGBT families. They enable domestic partners to take unpaid leave to care for a critically ill loved one without being fired, to cover a partner in family health insurance, and to make sure hard-earned pension and death benefits protect children when a parent dies.
Statement of Jennifer Chrisler, Executive Director, Family Equality Council:
“Today was a victory for family equality in Washington. This decision sends a clear message to the entire country that there is a board support for family values, which includes all families. This vote is significant to the welfare of LGBT families in the state of Washington, where thousands of parents are raising thousands of children. These children deserve the protection and recognition afforded to them through Referendum 71. Family Equality Council is energized by this ruling, which appropriately recognizes LGBT families who have long struggled to support, protect and provide for one another despite lack of legal family recognition.” [Press Release: Family Equality Council]
